Everyone at Gorey Educate Together Secondary School is delighted to congratulate Alison O’Neil on being appointed as the new Educate Together Volunteer Officer. Alison, who is on our Board of Management and will remain so, will join the National Office team in June to begin her new role.
Alison holds a BA in Social Studies and an MA in Community Development from NUIG. Alison has experience working in child protection with Tusla, as well as in development roles within the community and voluntary sector and the local authority sector. She was a volunteer member of the campaign group that won the patronage for GETSS in 2020.
The Volunteer Officer will be responsible for the recruitment, appointment and support of school board of management nominees and other volunteers and the development and coordination of training for Educate Together Boards of Management. In addition, Alison will join the Member Support team to provide support services to schools and boards.
