Recently 10 students from Gorey ETSS set off to represent the school in cross-country running in Adamstown. This was an historic moment as our first ever sports team participated in a sporting event.
Conditions in Adamstown were perfect for running, while there was stiff opposition from the large numbers present from the schools across Wexford. In the minor girls race, there was good performances from, Robin, Erin and Leah. In the junior girls there was also a very determined run by Ceadaí.
Meanwhile, in the junior boys there was resilient performances from Scott and Jamie. The highlight of the day belonged to our minor boys, who took home the bronze medal in the team event. Our team was led home by Tomás in a very competitive top ten finish with Euan, Jack and Darwish all digging deep and showing great resilience and a great team spirit to clinch the team bronze. All the students showed a terrific team spirit to support each other and represented the whole school fantastically.
Well done to all who took part, as we look forward to more memories and medals!
